The Challenge: Shared Templates, Bulk Send, and Logging

Falx was tasked by the client to build a secure SMS client and marketing outreach application. The new solution needed to replace an outdated system that lacked proper auditing and usage tracking.

The current solution was a standalone desktop application that had no authentication or authorisation. Coupled with no control over data retention or logging against actions taken in the app, this posed a major risk to regulatory compliance.

Falx’s Approach: Structured Requirement Gathering and Secure Design

Falx took a structured, phased approach to the design and development of the new application, keeping user experience, functionality and security at the core of the process.

• Discovery and Requirement Gathering: During the initial phase, Falx conducted a detailed evaluation of the legacy application. Following the identification of existing capabilities, the team consulted key stakeholders to uncover operational pain points and functional gaps prior to starting the design stage.
• Design: To rectify security risks and operational constraints found in the legacy desktop application, Falx architected a secure, cloud-native platform deployed directly inside the client’s Cloud environment. Key aspects of this design included:
  • Authentication and Access Control: Integrated single sign-on (SSO) via Microsoft Entra, ensuring that only authenticated and authorised users can access the system.
  • Centralised Management and Auditing: Incorporated shared message templates, bulk-sending capabilities, and comprehensive audit logging to track application usage and messaging history.

The Results: A secure solution fit for the Client’s needs

The implementation of the new web-based SMS sending platform significantly improved operational efficiency and security compliance for the client. By replacing the legacy desktop tool, Falx successfully delivered:

• Enhanced Security & Access Control: Integration with Microsoft Entra single sign-on (SSO) ensured strict role-based authorisation, mitigating risks associated with unauthenticated access.
• Streamlined Communication: Centralised message templates and bulk-sending capabilities enabled consistent outreach campaigns and substantially reduced manual effort.
• Full Accountability: End-to-end audit logging provided full visibility into user activity and messaging history, enabling seamless oversight and reporting.
